Exchange & Mentorship Placements

The AfAAS Exchange and Mentorship Program connects scholars across institutional contexts to share teaching practices, research methodologies, and professional development opportunities. Through collaborative partnerships, participants strengthen their pedagogy while building lasting professional networks. Placements may involve visiting lectures, co-teaching seminars, collaborative research, or mentoring relationships. The program is designed to foster innovation in the classroom and create spaces for scholarly dialogue across different institutional contexts.

Requirements & Guidelines

→Current faculty or postdoctoral position
→Active AfAAS membership
→Interest in African American Studies pedagogy
→Commitment to 1–2 semester collaboration
→Experience teaching African American Studies or related fields
